Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike es un dúo belga de música electrónica compuesto por los hermanos Dimitri Thivaios (Dimitri Vegas) y Michael Thivaios (Like Mike). Actualmente ocupan el puesto número 6 en la encuesta realizada en 2013 por la revista DJmag.¹ Ingresaron en 2011 ubicándose en el posición #79.^{2 3} Además son los actuales anfitriones y embajadores del festival Tomorrowland.

Historia

Dimitri Vegas nació el 17 de mayo de 1982. Comenzó a hacer sus primeras incursiones como DJ a la edad de 14 años. En sus primeros años realizó varias presentaciones en clubes de poco reconocimiento y fue el DJ residente de la radio BeatFM. Dejó Bélgica en 1999 y comenzó a recorrer Europa. Vivió en Mallorca y después en Halkidiki, Grecia antes de trasladarse a Ibiza en 2003, donde fue residente en importantes discotecas como Privilege y Space.⁴
Luego de vivir en Mallorca y las Islas Canarias, se afinco en Zante, Grecia donde fue residente de Amnesia y The End en el 2006. En otoño de 2006, regresa a Bélgica para trabajar con su hermano, Like Mike, y producen su primer lanzamiento La Cocaína / Eivissa 2007.⁵ Su remix de "Work That Body" del 2008 llamó la atención de Axwell, quien les encomendó hacer un remix de "Rotterdam City of Love" de Abel Ramos para su sello Axtone. En 2009, Dimitri & Mike hicieron un Edit junto a Swedish House Mafia de Leave the World Behind.⁶
En el 2010 llegaron a un punto importante de su carrera al convertirse en los Hosters de Tomorrowland y en ese año se les encomienda hacer el himno del festival, este fue Tomorrow (Give Into The Night) con Dada Life y Tara McDonald que fue lanzado en el sello del dúo, Smash The House. En el 2011 volvieron a realizar el himno, esta vez con con Afrojack y Nervo, el sencillo se llamo The Way We See The World. Madagascar con Angger Dimas y Yves V, Momentum con Regi y REJ fueron los sencillos del duo que fueron lanzados en el 2011 y con los que se hicieron conocer, pero no fue hasta el 2012 cuando llegaron a la cima. Mammoth con Moguai llegó al Top 1 del Beatport chart por 4 semanas, Turn It Up con GTA y Wolfpack logró también ser el más vendido, pero por 2 semanas y media y Wakanda ocupó la segunda posición en dicho portal. Para la nueva edición de Tomorrowland, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike realizaron CHATTAHOOCHEE, el himno de Tomorrowland del 2013. Este sencillo, lanzado en Smash The House, llegó al Top 1 del Beatport Chart en menos de 3 días, más el himno no pudo mantenerse en la cima y 4 días después What's Up Suckaz de TJR lo reemplaza.

Tomorrowland

Debido al éxito de Tomorrowland, ID&T (Los organizadores del festival) busca a un Hoster que represente a Tomorrowland. Para este tiempo, Dimitri y Mike estaban en Pacha, y da la casualidad que un representante de ID&T los está observando, se impresiona con el dúo y los encomienda para realizar el Tomorrowland Anthem con Tara McDonald y Dada Life, la canción se llamo Tomorrow (Give Into The Night) y fue lanzada en Smash The House, siendo así el primer sencillo de la discográfica.
Para el año 2011, Tomorrowland ya era un festival conocido a nivel mundial y Dimitri & Mike querían hacerlo aún más famoso con el lanzamiento de su tema principal, The Way We See The World con Afrojack y Nervo. El sencillo fue lanzado por Wall Recordings, la discográfica de Afrojack.
Para el 2012 el dúo lanzó su tercer tema principal para el festival titulado Tomorrow Changed Today. En el 2012, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike tuvieron mucho material con que sorprender al público en su presentación en el escenario principal, entre el material encontramos Ocarina, Mammoth, Madness y Tomorrow Changed Today (Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs Yves V Tomorrowland Mainstage Remix).
En el 2013 realizaron, en inspiración de la localización del TomorrowWorld, CHATTAHOOCHEE, el himno del festival Tomorrowland en su novena edición. El sencillo llegó al Top 1 de Beatport y fue lanzado en Smash The House el 22 de julio del 2013.

Smash The House

Desde 2010 el dúo es propietario de la discográfica Smash The House, esta es una sub-división de Spinnin' Records. En esta discográfica, DJs como Wolfpack y Yves V vieron la luz y entraron en la escena del EDM. En Smash The House también lanzaron producciones artistas como Jordy Dazz, Eitro, Regi, Blasterjaxx, Dave Till, Wolfpack, Yves V, Zatox, Oh Snap!, Angger Dimas, Felguk, Mystique & Amro, Michael Calfan, Dada Life, Tara McDonald, Promise Land, Clockwork y Mitch Crown.⁷

Bringing Home the Madness

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike anunciaron en su primera visita a Tel Aviv, Israel que van a lanzar un nuevo disco, incluidos todos sus éxitos. Sería lanzado por Smash The House, el sello discográfico del dúo belga. Recientemente publicaron un video en su canal de YouTube, el video titulado "Bringing Home The Madness" ya ha sido confirmado por el dúo, que es el título de su nuevo álbum.⁸
